SOMA Global promotes Mike Mattson to President and Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder, Nick Stohlman to Chief Law Enforcement Officer
SOMA Global, a leading provider of public safety software solutions, is pleased to announce several leadership changes designed to further drive innovation and growth in the organization. Mike Mattson, formerly the Chief Growth Officer, has been promoted to President and Chief Operations Officer (COO), while Nick Stohlman, Co-Founder, has assumed the role of Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) and resident domain expert in the world of public safety and law enforcement.
As President and COO, Mike Mattson will oversee all aspects of SOMA Global’s operations, including customer acquisition, partner success, and product adoption. With over 15 years of experience in the public sector enterprise software and services industry, Mike is well-positioned to lead SOMA Global’s efforts in driving disruption and innovation in the public safety software vertical.
Mattson commented on his promotion, “I am honored to take on this new role and help lead SOMA Global to even greater heights in the public safety technology market. We have a talented team and a strong foundation to build on. I look forward to working closely with Nick, Peter, and all of SOMA’s current and future employees as we continue to bring solutions that meet the unique needs of our agency partners.” Mattson, who previously led revenue growth and customer operations at OpenGov before joining SOMA Global in April 2022, cites building and maturing SOMA’s partner (customer) services and support function, “smart growth,” and hiring and retaining diverse, team-oriented, and high-performing talent as his top initiatives in his new role as President.
Nick Stohlman will serve as the company’s resident domain expert in public safety and law enforcement in his new role as CLEO. With over 25 years of experience in public safety technology and leadership positions within the law enforcement community, Nick will provide invaluable insights and expertise to help SOMA Global continue to develop progressive solutions that meet the unique needs of this industry. This includes collaborating closely with product development teams to ensure that software solutions are tailored to the needs of law enforcement agencies and working closely with partners to understand their needs and provide effective guidance on software solutions.
Peter Quintas, Co-Founder and CEO, of SOMA Global, commented on these leadership changes: “As we continue to grow and expand our solutions within public safety, it is imperative to have the right leadership in place to drive innovation and deliver value to our partners. I have full confidence in SOMA Global’s mission of making communities safer and more connected through modern technology.”
Peter emphasized that these leadership changes underscore SOMA Global’s commitment to ensuring partner success and driving technology modernization. With Mike’s leadership over field and business operations and Nick’s law enforcement expertise, the company is well-positioned to accelerate its efforts in delivering cutting-edge public safety software solutions that effectively meet the evolving needs of public safety agencies. “After 6+ years of building our technology platform, core team, and learning in collaboration with our partners, we’ve hit our stride. The results and adoption of our solutions by the partners who have stuck with us throughout the years are the proof points we continue to be most proud to achieve. But we are just getting started,” said Quintas.
SOMA Global is doubling down on its future with the continued leadership of Mike Mattson and Nick Stohlman. With a strong team and a steadfast commitment to their mission, SOMA Global is leading the charge in bringing innovation and secure modern cloud technology to public safety agencies across US state and local governments.
